Quit whining, and get more damage dealers.
no...
If I crash when initiating combat, I have log back in bloody fast or I die, there doesn't need to be any special compensation for people 'crashing' *cough cough* when jumping into a gatecamp... ----------

Nanobotter, I've said it before and I'll say it again: until there is interception/combat at warp, combat at Gates is the only form of territorial control available to factions in 0.0 - end of argument.
If you can't take the heat, then don't bother flying round 0.0, plenty of us survive just fine with the tools at hand (no that does not mean 'Ctrl-Q')...

Good lord, the people complaining about bubbles and trying to justify that as an excuse for Ctrl-Q really should not be out in 0.0.
If you want to avoid dying through warping into one, scan the gate from a celestial object in range (uncheck æuse overview settingsÆ to sweep for warp disrupt probes). If you donÆt have an object in range drain your capacitor repeatedly to get a short warp to within scan range of the gate.
If you want to avoid dying through jumping into one, use the bloody map! ("gee, I wonder what that big red splurge two jumps down the pipe is?...").
If that fails and you do jump into one, MWD full pelt back to the gate.
If that fails try and fight your way out.

Originally by: Galen Lang This whole aggro timer issue is a sideline, since it is impossible to accurately tell who has been disconnected and who ctrl-q`ed.., so leave it as it is and allow the possibility of proper tactics and evasion within systems, rather than just playing avoid the system or get ganked.
I will say it again. It is utterly irrelevant if someone ctrl-q's or actually has a CTD.
Player A: Crashed to desktop after jumping into a decent bubble camp. In that situation where you were guaranteed to die, crashing made no difference.
Player B: Attacks someone at a gate, large overmatch (e.g. T2 fitted BS vs equivalent T1 fitted BS), Yarr! - but then immediately crashes to desktop and dies...
Why should player A be treated any differently to player B? - it's simple, they should not. The whole 'but what about genuine CTD?!" is a Red Herring, log back in and try to do something about it or just accept you would have died anyway...

Originally by: Dotar Sojat Personally after losing two battleships to lag generated by gate camps and having both petitons declined. I will never again hesitate to logoff to avoid getting ganked. I will show just as little imagination escaping them as they show in setting up the gank.
Are you saying you could have fought your way out of the situation, or withdrawn back to the gate and jumped through, or is 'lag did it' simply an excuse?...

Edited by: Gabriel Karade on 30/01/2007 22:02:34 The problem is nothing of the sort, the problem is people are too lazy to play the game.
The tools to avoid getting ganked already exist and have done for years. To say that "You can't leave empire because you'll get ganked" is a huge exaggeration, if you play smart you can live anywhere. ----------
